This book describes the SSL/TLS protocol in great detail, starting with the cryptographic protocols that it wraps, moving on to the PKI infrastructure that it depends on, and finally the details of the protocol itself. Targeted at anybody with a working knowledge of the C programming language and basic network programming, this book assumes no security or cryptography background. This book includes a lot of code, including complete working examples of DES, AES, RC4, RSA, DSA, Diffie-Hellman, ECDH, ECDSA, SHA, MD5, HMAC, ASN.1, X.509 and of course, SSLv2, SSL 3.0, TLS 1.0, TLS 1.1 and TLS 1.2.
