Yes, there is an example that demonstrates how you can utilize an Information Object Set generated by the compiler to determine the type of the encoded sub-PDU value carried by a nested OpenType field of the parent enclosing PDU. It also shows how you can use this type information extracted from the Information Object Set for manual decoding of the encoded sub-PDU carried by the open type field.
To make it easier for you to run the example from the command line, two scripts are included, a Unix .sh and a Windows .bat.
To run it on a Unix platform, change directory to the infoobject directory and type:
./run.sh
