Why am I getting this Exception message when I run the sample program: Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError?

First check your CLASSPATH settings. It should be

CLASSPATH=..;%OSS_ASN1_JAVA%\lib\oss.jar

(for Windows) where OSS_ASN1_JAVA is the root directory of the OSS installation.

Next check what directory that you are in. If you did this:

asn1pjav -test baseball 
cd baseball 
baseball.bat javac 
java baseball.Test

then you will get the NoClassDefFoundError. However, if you do this:

asn1pjav -test baseball 
cd baseball 
baseball.bat javac 
cd .. 
java baseball.Test

All should work well.
