Automatic decoding works for open types if enableAutomaticDecoding() has been called, but it does not work for the ANY type. The decoder does not know what type to expect. After you decode your PDU object, you need to extract the ANY value and call decode again for that value manually. The code below is meant as a guide.
For example:
decodedData = (YOURpdu) coder.decode(source, decodedData); source = new ByteArrayInputStream(decodedData.extractEncodedValue()); result = (YOUROpenType) coder.decode(source, result); YOURpdu.setDecodedValue(result);
