As long as you declared the type in question as a UTCTime type in your ASN.1 specification, you don't have to do anything special, since the encoder will know from the control table or code file which type is intended. You just have to make sure that the values you provide conform to the requirements of the UTCTime type (such as the condition of the year containing only two digits).
