It is fine to use ossEncode() and/or ossDecode() endlessly without calling ossterm() or ossWterm() in between each call. The encoder and decoder both free the temporary memory that they allocate, but require you to explicitly free the memory for the output that they pass back. The functions used to free the output from the encoder and decoder are ossFreeBuf() and ossFreePDU() respectively. These functions should only be used when you do not preallocate an output buffer for the encoder and decoder.
The samples included with some of the Knowledge Center answers are meant for your general understanding of the OSS products. Different versions of the products might produce slightly different outputs. Consult the products documentation and samples for the most up-to-date products information and code examples.
